The Village of Cargèse
Discover Cargèse, the discreet gem of Corsica’s west coast.
Between sea and mountains, this village of 1,300 inhabitants offers a rare balance between wild nature and Mediterranean softness. Its elevated position facing the Gulf of Sagone makes it a truly exceptional viewpoint.
Cargèse also stands out for its history: founded in the 17th century by Greek families, it preserves a unique dual religious identity in Corsica. Its two churches — one Catholic, the other Orthodox — face each other, a rare testimony to a living heritage and a village deeply rooted in its origins.
